Recent Events 

March 2018

We celebrated Easter with a service at church. Children took part in readings, songs and prayers about Easter.

World Book Day was celebrated on 1st March. Pupils took part in water-colour workshops where they drew and illustrated pictures for their own books.

February 2018

Year 5 pupils entered the Rotary Competition, singing and playing recorders.

All pupils took part in ‘Safer Internet Day’ where the key message was ‘Create, Connect and Share Respect’.

January 2018

Years 4 and 5 took part in Young Voices at the Genting Arena Birmingham

Year 3 started swimming lessons

December

Singing Round the Tree – Community light switching on event

Year 2 sang Christmas songs at the Church Hall and also the Nursing Home

Key Stage 1 performed ‘Children of the World’

Children enjoyed Christmas discos ran by the FSA

Children took part in the Nativity service at the church

Key Stage 2 Celebration Assembly

Year 5 visited the Grand Central Mosque in Leicester and the New Walk Museum

Pupils received flu vaccinations

The Dog’s Trust visited to lead workshops in each class

Year 6 joined in a webinar with the Archbishop of Canterbury on his visit to Leicester

Children supported the work of Children in Need by holding a non-uniform day

Parents visited for our Key Stage 1 Celebration Assembly

A wind quintet visited from Leicestershire Arts and performed to the whole school

Year 6 visited PGL for a 3 night residential

4+ visited Beacon Hill

We celebrated Harvest with a service at the church

Year 4 visited Donington Le Heath to learn all about how the Tudors lived
