Year 2
Class 2 is taught by Mrs Riches and Mrs Bennett.
In Class 2 independence and resilience skills and strategies are taught through every lesson, building on prior abilities to allow the children to tackle every new learning challenge with positivity and an enthusiasm to succeed.
In Autumn term, we explore Growth and Survival with a science focus, learning about animals and the basic needs animals (including humans) have to grow and survive.
In Spring term, we travel back in time to 1666 and explore the Great Fire of London. We link our historical learning to science, where we explore materials and their properties to better understand why 1666 houses burnt so easily during the great fire.
In Summer term, we travel around the world in our Islands and Explorers topic. In this work we learn about the lives of historical explorers as well as discovering more about our planet and the different geographical features in the world.
